Facebook gives out your personal information

Facebook has just released it’s new ‘socialization’ features in the form of API’s and widgets to it calls to be it’s “trusted partners”

I agree that Facebook is doing a mighty well job in connecting the web and making it more personalized for most people but then maybe this step is a bit too hasty for them. Sure, you have the option to keep your stuff private, but then Facebook has, by default, already checked the ‘instant personalization’ box for you. Meaning the moment you land into one of their “trusted partners” sites, your personal information has just been given away.

Building links is one of the toughest parts of SEO. Being a blogger for some time, I know how tough it is to just get your content out there and let people create buzz out of it. If you’re a black hatter, you’re most probably building links by yourself through doorway pages or comment spamming. But if you’re a white hatter, what now?

I say, yes we can!

White hatters can create links too!

Just listen to my good friend Matt Cutts say it all. Watch this video.

SEO and the White Hat approach

White hat SEO

SEO has a long history. It’s simply not something new. And before it became this technical, it was merely a matter of content, which is the main focus of White Hat (or sometimes known as organic) SEO. When SEO was yet unconscious, content was almost everything. And right now, content is still one of the main driving factors when it comes to SEO.

When content mattered most

‘Content is King’ as they say. And SEO will not argue with that statement. Content may still well be king even up until now but what’s a king without the queen and their subjects?Aall the other factors that a Google spider verifies such as meta tags, image alt text, keyword density, backlinks and whatnot are just as important.

SEO without boundaries

SEO Has no boundaries

SEO has no direct, knockdown guidelines on how to make your page rank higher. It doesn’t tell you how to be a competitive site, doesn’t tell you how your site will get into the 1st page search results. It doesn’t tell you it’s secrets. You have to know it yourself.

And so that’s what some people do

Some people do the trial-and-error method. First, they try to know what methods are punishable by Google (which is the top search engine there is based on users) and what methods are legal, then they try out new ideas in hopes of somehow increasing their page rank. Some of these ideas are proven to be true while some are still on the test-tube.

So what is SEO?

SEO Basics

SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. Simply put, it is the process of making your website a better-ranking site in the search engines than other websites with the same niche or market as yours. So why is SEO important?

Search Engines Matter
